Pool Landscaping

Part of a complete backyard transformation, this bright blue, rectangular pool was taken out of the Sixties and given a more naturalistic feeling. The use of Caribbean Blue Stonescapes finish and the gradual depth change, combined with a stone tile at the waterline soften the mood of the space considerably. The rustic/eclectic style pool pavilion is angled to be a major focal point from all sides.

Also, Before, the living room was blocked off from the back yard and pool by a significant grade change, a solid wooden railing, and seedling trees that had grown up over time. To create access between the deck and the pool level, solid stone step treads become a wide, angled staircase through a boulder wall. The height difference was carefully measured so that no railings would be required which would block the view out through French doors from the living room.
