![Recovering from Atlanta’s Polar Vortex]()
Well, I declare, Spring is in the air. Soon it will officially be summer, but I must admit, it has been a tough row to hoe this winter and our landscapes have taken a bit of hard beating. By now you should be able to tell what survived the extreme cold and what is best left for the compost pile. From my observations there were about a half a dozen shrubs that were hit particularly hard.

![Fescue…The Year Round Green Grass]()
I have been driving around the past few days and have really noticed it is definitely FESCUE season, the time of year when Fescue grass really looks good. I mean FANTASTIC. That’s saying a lot for a grass that ultimately is only viable in our area for about ten months of the year.
Basically, Fescue is a cool season grass (that means it likes cooler temperatures, more appropriately, it melts in higher temperatures), so now is the time it should look good.

This past weekend the Bloom’n Gardens Team got some much needed face-to-face time with potential customers at the Spring Atlanta Home Show. It was great fun talking with everyone, allowing the homeowners to use us as a sounding board for all of their landscape issues.
